Weekend Away

Sensible footwear and a freshly waxed and polished Gilbert? It can only mean one thing...a weekend away at CamperJam, a festival for VW enthuasiasts to get together to admire each other's vintage vehicles and have some good clean fun.

We're off in a minute or two. The maxi dresses are packed along with the Factor 30, my sunhat and parasol, my bikini and a couple of gallons of pear cider.

I'm wearing an early 1970's geometric print maxi I bought for 20p at a Salvation Army jumble sale last year along with my trusty leather Gladstone bag (same jumble sale, a couple of months later).

My tooled leather flip flops were from a street market in Chennai. They got water-damaged after I was caught in the tail-end of the monsoon in Pondicherry but the lovely guy who sold them to me (for less than a couple of quid) repaired them for free.

Have a great weekend, see you soon!

  22. Dear Vix,
    Hope you and Jon have a lovely time!
    I've seen quite a few girls sporting maxi dresses of late but none have been on par with your one...yet again a proof that vintage is the way to go.
    They just had a way more exciting print sensibility back in the 70s;
    nowadays it seems to be a lot more about unremarkable patterns & play it safe colour combos…BORING!
    You look totally lush...I even like your cute green toenails ;)
